Frozen sports pros and athletes

The task

Create a powerful, striking image of a sports professional in an icy environment.

The answer
Four one commissioned London based photographer, Simon Stanmore, for the initial footballer shoot. He'd previously worked with athletes and sports pros for many high-profile campaigns, and managed to capture the movement and energy of the footballer in motion, whilst carefully lighting key areas that could be accentuated in post production. Retouching was a joint effort between Simon and the Fourone team and inspired a series of follow-ups utilising similar techniques with stock imagery.
